Supporting Clients with Autistic and ADHD Burnout

Your Autistic and ADHD clients have tried everything to relieve their burnout to no avail. This training provides you with the confidence and competence needed to support your clients in understanding how Autistic and ADHD burnout develops, assessing for relevant signs and symptoms, differentiating from occupational burnout, adjustment disorder, or major depressive disorder, implementing lifestyle accommodations to improve outcomes, and implementing affirming techniques for recovery.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:
  • Identify at least 5 signs and symptoms characteristic of Autistic and ADHD burnout.
  • Describe at least 2 each risk factors and protective factors for Autistic and ADHD burnout.
  • Assess for severity of burnout in Autistic and ADHD clients using standardized tools.
  • Develop collaborative recovery plans for Autistic and ADHD burnout using affirming intervention.

Britt M. Carilli, LCSW 

Britt  (she/they) : I’m am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut and a 2023 graduate of Simmons University's Masters of Social Work program. I specialize in providing outpatient trauma-focused therapeutic interventions to adults belonging to the neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ communities. As a neuroqueer clinician, my approach emphasizes community care, radical affirmation, autonomy, and advocacy work.
